By making critical protocols, SOPs, and SOGs, and other agency resources easy to find across devices, even without a signal, HyperProto helps crews respond faster and make fewer errors under pressure. Your focus can be on what matters most: the patient in front of you.
We're a small, dedicated team focused on building tools that serve the people who serve us. What sets us apart is that we've been in your shoes. Our founders come from hands-on work backgrounds, where having the right tools and information at the right time matters. One of our founders spent years in the field as a firefighter-EMT, so he knows the exact problems we're trying to solve. HyperProto is built from firsthand experience, not assumptions. And we're committed to continuing to shape HyperProto alongside the people who use it every day.
History
HyperProto was founded by Briggs Elsperger after a fire department he had served with reached out with a problem: their crews needed fast, reliable access to protocols in any situation. Briggs had spent years as a firefighter-EMT in rural South Dakota before moving into software engineering, so he understood both the problem and how to solve it. What started as a tool for one department became HyperProto, built for every agency that depends on having the right information at the right moment.
Meet our team
Briggs Elsperger
Founder
Briggs has been involved with firefighting since he was 16, when he started his career in his rural South Dakota community as a Firefighter/EMT. He has since transitioned into software engineering, which he's focused on for over 10 years, but he hasn't forgotten what it felt like to be in the field. He knows what it's like to need information quickly while the ambulance is moving or a hazardous material is leaking. HyperProto is his way of giving back to the people still running toward emergencies and helping make their jobs a little easier.
Austin Sullivan
Business Operations Manager & Frontend Engineer
Austin started his first career at 14, working for his family's construction business. Nearly a decade later, he returned to school for Business Administration and taught himself to code during the COVID lockdowns. Austin joined HyperProto because he knows how critical the work of firefighters and healthcare providers is for our communities. Having worked in construction, he understands what it's like to rely on the right tools and resources when doing hands-on work, and he's glad to have this opportunity to help firefighters and healthcare providers help others.
Cody Loyd
User Experience & Interface Developer
Cody began his professional career as a teacher before teaching himself to code. He's since spent almost a decade in the engineering field, as both a software developer and a manager. He's passionate about working on a team that's united towards a single, mission-driven goal, and he's found that in HyperProto. For Cody, HyperProto is about building tools that get out of the way so the people in the field can focus on saving lives.
Zach Meyer
Quality Assurance & User Experience Developer
Zach's career began in plumbing construction and, while he's since transitioned into tech, he's consistently found himself driven by reducing friction and making work easier for the people around him. Whether solving plumbing issues in the field or coordinating designs with others in an office, Zach has remained committed to improving processes and creating thoughtful user experiences.
